When is a good time to start shopping for a gown?

In a nut shell, 9+ months for a bridal gown, 6 months for maids, moms and guys. We say these times to help you avoid rush fees and help give time for alterations. We want to make your experience as stress free as possible.


Do I need an appointment?

We strongly recommend making an appointment. Every guest at Bianca Bridal Boutique receives our full attention. We will always honor and never rush appointments. If you happen to have some extra time and decide just to stop in, that’s ok as well. We will always be honest with you and in some cases, tell you that there is an appointment and it would be lovely if you could then make your own appointment so we can offer you the same great service.


I found a dress online that I love! Can you order it for me?

Yes! IF it is one of the designers that we carry! We can order any dress you like! If the dress you like is from a different designer, I can’t order that EXACT one but I can show you similar ones from the above designers since we are authorized retailers. Some bridal stores offer to order any gown for you from any designer. If a store isn’t listed as an authorized retailer, they are having another store in another state order your dress.

Planning timeline

These are our timeline recommendations to encourage a stress-free experience.


9+ months

It may seem like a long time in advance to order your bridal gown but we assure you it will be the least stressful option! You will want to order your bridal gown during this time since most dresses can take 6-8 months (depending on the designer) to arrive to the store once we place the order. Ordering at this time will also give you plenty of time for alterations down the road and help you to avoid any rush fees.


6 months

The perfect timeframe for bridesmaid and Mother of the day dresses. It takes a lot of effort and planning to gather all the ladies together and find a date to come into the store. Don’t put it off! Bridesmaid dresses can take 3-4 months to arrive once the order is placed. Mother’s dresses are no exception.


As for the gentlemen, the groom should start picking out the ensemble for the guys and himself. Bridesmaid dresses should already be picked out so we can match colors. All the men should be measured by 4 months out.


4 months 

With rush fees, this is the LAST chance to place an order for bridesmaid, mothers and some bridal gowns. Rush fees can be anywhere from $100-$400 in addition. Your order can be completed but is not advised! $400 towards rush fees? Or $400 towards shoes, jewelry, vacation, etc.? Hmmmmm…..


This is also a splendid time for accessories!!! Headpieces and veils ordered now will have plenty of time to arrive if it needs to be ordered. Plus, hair trials! It is also advised at this time to get your shoes and undergarments since these could change how your dress fits.


Having these items handy will help with your upcoming alterations. (Added bonus, it’ll give you enough time to break in your shoes. Wear them around the house to avoid wedding day blisters.)


2-3 months        

Alterations! It’s the time to try on your dress that you ordered what seems like a life time ago! Over 90% of gowns will need to have alterations. We always strive to order your dress as close to your measurements as possible but everybody is different.


Your alterations could be a little here, a little there but coming in at this time will give the seamstress plenty of time to make your dress YOUR exact fit. This also gives you a chance to see everything put together.


Decided you want your hair up now after seeing yourself? No problem, this gives you the best opportunity to see the whole picture and make changes.


1-2 months

Bridesmaids and moms will have the perfect amount of time coming in during this timeframe to have their fittings and alterations. Some gowns take longer; please have this conversation with your consultant.


1 month

Your wedding day is just around the corner! Now would be the time to make an appointment to try on and pick up. This will give the opportunity for any very last minute changes that need to be made.


This is also a great time to bring someone along that will be helping you to get dressed on your big day along with learning how to help with the bustling and/or lacing of your dress.

While I'm not a service member personally, my life is surrounded by those who have served our country. My dad, uncles, grandfathers and husband have fought for our country and all of them have felt the effects of war.


With that said, the least we can do is offer you a 15% discount on any reorderable bridal gown. We'll also extend a discount to bridesmaids, mother of the day and tuxes.

Thank you for your military service

Do you really want to take that risk with the biggest day of your life so far? What if there are problems with the gown…the store you think your dress is coming from will have to contact another store who then contacts the designer? That’s like playing the telephone game. What can get lost in transmission between stores to the designer?


Do you discount your dresses?

Our listed price is a pre-set price which comes directly from our designers. We honor our agreements with them by selling our gowns at MSRP (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price). If another store offers you a ‘great deal’ by discounting the price then they are either in violation of agreement, raising their price beyond the MSRP so it seems like you’re receiving a discount or they are not an authorized retailer.


How much do I need to pay on my dress once I’ve found the one?

For us to place your order, whether it’s a bridal, bridesmaid or moms gown, we ask for at least 50% of the total cost as a down payment. Once a dress arrives directly from the designer, we will thoroughly inspect each and every gown to make sure it is nothing short of excellence, and then we will notify you immediately. The remaining balance of the gown is due within 14 days of receipt of the merchandise.


Do you accept returns?

All sales are final. There are no returns, refunds, or exchanges. These are handpicked by YOU and made for YOU, and YOU are one of a kind.


Do you have in-store alterations?

No, we do not. However we do have a list of qualified alteration specialists that are more than willing to assist you. After you purchase your dress, we will discuss these options with you.
